The system foundation was originally designed and built to meet the U.S. Navy's exacting Open Architecture Computing Environment standards for enterprise command and control system applications within the Department of Defense. Monitor

Functions include host as well as network performance and health monitoring, quality of service capabilities, resource availability measurements as well as fault detection. Monitoring can be implemented using VOS specific technology or VOS can tightly integrate with standards based monitoring tools already in use within the data center.

Decide

The system extracts, retrieves, logs and records data from the performance monitoring environment. Then, VOS intelligently evaluates this data and makes capacity and optimization decisions in context of service level requirements, resource status, application priorities and more.

Optimize

The VOS system response capabilities deliver customizable levels of resource controls including system Initialization, shutdown, application start, stop, move and dependency - based control. This is available for virtualized resources as well as physical resources that make up part of the virtualized infrastructure. All this delivers truly optimized application performance within virtualized environments.
